Paper Title
Microwave Based Sensors For Crack Detection
Abstract
Three different types of resonators have been proposed as microwave based sensors for crack detection. Two are
complimentary SRR’s based on microstrip line and coplanar waveguide technology. Third one is a compact ELC resonator
with stubs based on microstripline technology. All are analyzed and compared on the basis of their sensitivity in detecting
cracks in a metal surface. Other than detecting cracks these resonators detect unevenness or misalignment in metal surfaces
as significant change is seen in the properties of the resonators in presence of metal. Cracks of length 0.1mm and 1mm are
detected using these resonators.
