Real-Time Implementation Field-Oriented -Control Induction Machine Drive System
Abstract
Active research in the area of power electronics and ruggedness, low maintenance cost, self-start features of
induction machine are some of the reasons that these machines-based drive systems are replacing the DC drive systems from
various industries where precise speed control is of prime importance. Therefore, in this work, DC machine- based drive
system has been replaced with field oriented controlled induction motor drive system for precise speed control. In this
process, the rated torque of the induction machine has been calculated from existing DC machine considering the futuristic
load conditions. Parameters of induction machine and its control strategy have also been calculated. Dynamic simulation
results of the proposed drive system show superior performance in the unstable torque- speed region of this machine. Then,
this system's model is transformed into real time version for its ready practical implementation. On the basis of these realtime
results, the recommendation is given to the concerned industry to install the proposed system
