A Single-Switch Transformerless DC-DC Converter with Universal Input Voltage for Electric Vehicles

A modified boost converter for the operation with fuel cell is proposed. The proposed topology contains an additional combination of inductors, capacitors and diodes with conventional boost converter. This addition is meant to obtain high voltage gain and to reduce the stresses on the power switch. This enhanced converter has universal input voltage range allowing it to handle the soft output characteristics of fuel cell. An additional feedback controller is used to achieve the desired output in uninterrupted manner.
